The Church Support Levy (CSL) Policy establishes a financial contribution system for members of Evangelical Faith Church in Nigeria to assist in the smooth running of church operations. The levy will serve as a monthly support fund, helping to maintain church activities, ministries, and operational expenses.
- Levy Amount
- Every registered member of the Church in Nigeria shall contribute a sum of ₦100 per month.
- This contribution will be referred to as the Church Support Levy (CSL) and will be used specifically for church operational needs.
- Collection of Levy
- The levy shall be collected every month, with each member expected to make the payment by the end of the month.
- The collection process will be overseen by the Church’s finance team, which will provide multiple payment options for convenience, including:
- Direct cash payments.
- Mobile or bank transfers.
- Online payment platforms (if available).
- Usage of Levy
The funds collected from the Church Support Levy (CSL) will be used for:
- Maintenance of church facilities (including utility bills).
- Support for ongoing church programmes and activities.
- Salaries and allowances for church staff.
- Contribution towards Clergy Stewardship Fund (CSF)
- Outreach and evangelism projects.
- Any other operational expenses as deemed necessary by the Urgent Mission Council.
- Exemptions and Special Cases
- Members who are financially unable to pay the levy may apply for temporary exemption or reduction of the levy, subject to approval by the Church’s finance committee.
- The committee will review such requests on a case-by-case basis and make decisions in alignment with the Church’s values of compassion and support.
- Accountability and Transparency
- The Church’s finance team will keep accurate records of all levy payments and will present a quarterly report to Urgent Mission Council.
- A summary of how the funds have been used will be communicated to the general congregation during accountability meetings to ensure transparency.
- Non-Compliance
- Members who fail to pay the levy for three consecutive months without valid reason will be reminded by the finance team and encouraged to meet their contribution obligations.
- Persistent non-compliance may result in a meeting with church leaders to assess the reasons and determine a suitable resolution.
- Amendments
This policy may be amended as necessary by the Urgent Mission Council, with prior notice to the congregation. Any changes will require a majority vote by the Council. - Effective Date
This policy shall take effect from January 1, 2025, and all members will be notified accordingly.
