I understand the pain of betrayal. When trust is betrayed, there is hurt and the tendency to stay away from trusting.

But, no one can live effectively without trust of some kind! You’ve got to trust someone or a process.

Chances are that you have been betrayed by a person whom you have trusted in the past – spouse, sibling, parent, friend, colleague, mentor, superior, and so on. Because of the disappointment, you tend to distrust everyone. But you can’t live effectively without trusting someone or something.

Trust is one of the foundations of effective and productive living. We must trust people to work effectively with them. We must trust people to live or play with them. We must trust a process to be willing to go through it. We must trust some ventures to be excited about the prospect of getting involved with it. We must. We must. We must.

Even in the spiritual realm, we must trust the Creator and our Redeemer to enter into, and stay in, a relationship with Him. And, of course, you know that ‘the spiritual controls the physical’. When we trust God enough to enter into, and remain in a relationship with Him, He becomes our Father – a Father that we can trust. Hebrews 10:23 says that God can be trusted to keep His promises!

God owns you by creation and wants to own you by redemption. Will you allow Him?

The Fatherhood of God helps you to overcome past hurts from betrayals because His love would so overwhelm you that you will find that ‘he who has God has everything’!

Do you want to heal from the hurt of that betrayal? Get hold of God and trust Him to help you overcome it and love Him like you are His only child.
