Inconsistencies in our walk with God are occasioned by the flesh and the devil. Both agencies are the real enemies of our souls. They deceive us to think that we are doing fine when we are not.

The flesh likes comfort and pleasure and commendations and pride. When we starve it of these, it reacts. The devil loves everything that keeps us from doing what God wants us to do. He also loves outright worship.

The man that can overcome these 2 evil agencies will be victorious in their walk with God and will be labeled an overcomer at the end of time.

The flesh and the devil lead people into destruction. They entice Christians to live in sin, be worldly or harbour dangerous passions in their heart – lust, bitterness, envy, covetousness, etc. Satan loves it when you pray, fast, sing, study the Bible, go to Church, preach, and so on but are still worldly. He loves it when a committed Christian lives in sin. He loves it when a Christian harbours unholy passions in their heart.

The works of the devil are ‘… to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: …’
(John 10:10 KJV). The works of the flesh are ‘… Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: …’ (Galatians 5:19‭-‬21 KJV)

Examine your life. Do you have any of those works in your life? If you do, you are on the path to perdition. But you can do something about that today. Go to God and ask Him to help you deal with those works and kick them out of your life. Don’t keep quiet about this. Cry to God until your life is rid of those dangerous signs.

The situation of the one who has not become a true follower of Christ is graver. He is on his way to destruction. Redemption can change that course for you. Be wise. Turn around and be saved. Don’t let the enemy deceive you. There is a literal, horrible, and inescapable hell right at the end of the way that you are on! Repent and believe the good news of Jesus Christ. Escape the destruction today. Tomorrow might be too late.
