Man was created a good, complete, and clean being. God, the creator, was pleased with man’s ‘emergence’ in space and time because man was the crown of His creation and was created in His image. He relished the fellowship that He has with man. He came around during the ‘cool of the day’ to commune and interact with man (Genesis 3:8). Man, also enjoyed his time with God.

God operates with principles. When He created man, He didn’t hesitate to make the principles of life and purpose and fulfilment known to him. The principles were essential to man’s joy, peace, and eternal bliss. Man was to keep them and live.

Imagine a creature thinking that he is wiser than his creator! Man flaunted the principles of God. Man disobeyed His creator. So, man died. He fell out of favour and tune with God. Fellowship between God and man was broken. Man became sinful, depraved and totally devoid of the holiness of God and portends the propensity to commit sin and do evil. God’s creation became broken because of man’s disobedience. Sad.
Right from that time, man is always born sinful, depraved, and guilty. ‘Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world,’ (Romans 5:12 KJV) ‘For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;’ (Romans 3:23 KJV).

Man became reprobate in mind, filled with all unrighteousness – immorality, covetousness, envy, murder, treacherous, a transgressor, a worker of iniquity, filled with thoughts of iniquity and evil imagination, cunning and crafty, full of wickedness, blind, foolish, embroiled with darkened understanding, a child of wrath (Romans 1:28- 32; Mark 7:21-23; Isaiah 48:8; 59:5-8; Genesis 6:5; Ephesians 2:3; 4:14). What a life!

As you look around your neighbourhood or around social media and see the manifestations of depravity and sin, just know that it is because of the fall of man. And only Jesus can save from the depravity and restore the broken fellowship and sonship. If everyone in our neighbourhoods or on social media were redeemed from the eternal consequences of the fall, sanity would reign in every space.
